Aalu Ke Bhajiye or Potato Fritters – Maimoona Yasmeen Recipes – Hyderabadwala

Ingredients: for 3 to 4 servings
Potato (big) : 1
Chickpea Flour (Besan) : 110 grams or 1 ½ tea cups
Salt: ½  teaspoon
Turmeric Powder: 1/4th teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder: 3/4th teaspoon
Ginger Garlic paste: 1 teaspoon
Cooking soda: 2 -3 pinches
Oil for frying


  1. Peel one big potato and cut it into about 5 mm thick slices. Keep it aside.
    2. In an empty bowl, add chickpea flour or besan, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste, cooking soda and ½ cup water.
    3.  Mix well and keep it aside for about 15 minutes or half an hour.
    4. After 15 minutes or half an hour, pour oil into a frying pan, when the oil is hot, dip the potato slices into this batter and shed the excess batter to give it a thin coating. Lower these coated potato slices into the frying pan and fry on both sides till they turn brown.

Aalu Ke Bhajiye are ready.
