Chicken Manchurian Wet-Gravy – Maimoona Yasmeen Recipes – Hyderabadwala

For chicken marination:

 

Ingredients: For 4 servings

Boneless Chicken (small pieces): 250 grams

Ginger garlic paste: 1 teaspoon

Black pepper powder: 1/4th teaspoon

Red chili powder: 1/4th teaspoon

Salt: ½ teaspoon

Ajinomoto: 2 pinches

Cornflour: 2 tablespoons

All purpose flour(maida): 1 tablespoon

Soya sauce: 1 teaspoon

Egg: 1

Oil for frying

 

Procedure:

 

  1. Make small pieces of boneless chicken. Add ginger garlic paste, black pepper powder, red chili powder, salt, ajinomoto, corn flour, all purpose flour or maida, soya sauce and egg. Mix well and keep this aside for about half an hour.
  1. After half an hour add oil for frying in a pan.
  1. When the oil is hot, lower the marinated chicken pieces with a wide mouthed spoon into the oil.
  1. Separate the pieces if they get stuck to each other. Fry on both sides till they turn brown. Take out the fried chicken pieces and keep them aside.

For making gravy:

 

Ingredients:

 

Chopped white spring onions: 2 tablespoons

Diced garlic: 1 tablespoon

Diced ginger: 1 tablespoon

Whole green chili: 1 diced thinly

Soya sauce: 2 tablespoons

Tomato sauce: 2 tablespoons

Red chili sauce: 1 tablespoon

Salt: 1 teaspoon

Ajinomoto: 2 pinches

Black pepper powder: 1 teaspoon

Sugar: ½ teaspoon

Capsicum: 1 whole

Cornflour: 2 tablespoons

Red Food colour: a pinch (optional)

Chopped coriander: a handful

Chopped green spring onions: ½ cup

 

Procedure:

 

  1. Take out the excess oil used for frying the chicken pieces and leave only 2 tablespoons of oil in the pan.
  1. Add chopped white spring onions, diced garlic, diced ginger, 3 teacups or 500 ml of water, diced green chili, soya sauce, tomato sauce, red chili sauce, salt, ajinomoto, black pepper powder, sugar, capsicum cut into medium sized pieces.
  1. Close the lid and cook for 1 minute.
  1. After one minute, open the lid and add 2 tablespoons of cornflour mixed in 1/4th cup of water.
  1. Stir for 30 seconds, add a pinch of red food colour( this is optional).
  1. Mix well and add fried chicken pieces. Cook for 30 seconds.
  1. Garnish with handful of chopped coriander and ½ cup chopped green spring onions.

 

Chicken Manchurian Wet/Gravy is ready.

    I made the Manchurian Chicken dish today as per request of my mother in law. I just have to say, it was absolutely delectable! She loved it as well as my other family members!
