From Maimoona Yasmeen’s Recipes
Bottle gourd (kaddu) : 250 grams
Cooking oil: 1 tablspoon
Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon
Ginger garlic paste: 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder: 1/4th teaspoon
Salt: ½ teaspoon
Red Chili powder: 3/4th teaspoon
Chopped coriander: a handful
- In a cooking pan, add oil, when the oil is hot, add cumin seeds.
- When the cumin seedsturn brown, ginger garlic paste. Stir for 30 seconds and add turmeric powder, salt , red chili powder and small slices of peeled bottle gourd.
- Stir for about 30 seconds and add 1 cup of water, chopped coriander and close the lid.
- Cook on medium flame for 1 minute and simmer for one minute till the water dries up completely.
Zeera Kaddu or bottle gourd dry curry is ready. Serve at breakfast along with chapati or phulka.
