Zeera Rice or Cumin Rice – Maimoona Yasmeen Recipes – Hyderabadwala

Ingredients:
Basmati Rice: 250 grams
Cooking oil: 1 ½ tablespoon
Cumin seeds(zeera): 2 teaspoons
Green chillies(whole) : 4
Curry leaves: ½ cup
Salt: ½ teaspoon + 1 teaspoon
Ajinomoto: 2 pinches
Procedure:
- Soak rice for about half an hour. Add water and 1 teaspoon salt and cook the rice.
- Spread the cooked rice in a flat bottomed bowl or plate and allow it to cool.
- In a cooking pan, add oil. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, let them splutter.
- Add whole green chilies de-seeded and vertically slit, add curry leaves, cooked rice, salt and ajinomoto.
- Saute for 2 minutes.
Zeera Rice is ready.
